Dmytro is a passionate musician, advocate of Ukrainian and unknown classical works, who always seek for the high standards of teaching and performing. At the moment Dmytro Gnativ is a Teaching Assistant at the Frost School of Music. In the recent performance of Stravinsky’s “Song of the Nightingale” Dmytro received following critical review “Solo playing was outstanding throughout. Flutist Dmytro Gnativ gave an agile and effortless account of the rapid notes of the nightingale’s song.” by the South Florida Classical Review.
Mr. Gnativ studied at the Lviv National Music Academy with Andriy Karpyak, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2015. During his studies Mr. Gnativ was coached by many renowned flute players including Aldo Baerten, Jennifer Grim, Henrik Svitzer, Paul Walberg, ransom Wilson and many others. Mr. Gnativ also came in second place with his flute quartet at the 2013 V. Starchenko International Competition in Rivne. This led to the position of second/piccolo flute in the Khmelnytsky Philharmonic Orchestra, a position in the Khmelnytsky Band Orchestra, and to a teaching position at the private music school “Preludia”. In 2017 Dmytro was invited to study at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas under the mentoring of Dr. Jennifer Grim. In Spring 2020. Dmytro graduated with an Artist Diploma degree from University of Miami, Frost School of Music, where he is completing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree. Since coming to Miami he performed with Strauss Symphony of America, New World Symphony, the Last Hundred Ensemble.
