My name is Donna Cho. I am 16 year old and am a junior at Richard Montgomery High School. I have played piano for 6 years; I have participated in the MSMTA Spring Festivals, won 1st place at the Rockville Competition, passed the Piano Guild for 5 years, and have won the Bach Award. Through the organization YMIC, I have played at nursing homes and participated in YMIC competitions. I have won the Gold and Silver President’s Volunteer Service Award. In the music concerts at the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, I volunteer to play the piano and viola for the patients, staff, and guests to enlighten them through music. I have played the viola for 4 years. I have performed with Maryland Classic Youth Orchestra (MCYO) for 2 years, American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (AYPO ) for 2 years, New Life Foundation(NLF) for 4 years, and the All-County Orchestra for 2 years. I have played in a string quartet for community events and participated in the Ensemble Festival for 2 years receiving a rating of 1 in county and state both times. I have also competed in the Solo Ensemble. I enjoy the time that I spend playing with others in orchestras very much. Additionally, I also play the viola at the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. In my free time I like to read, play sports, draw, and hang out with friends.
