
Dylan Rhodes is a freshman from Melbourne, FL, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music (BM) degree in Piano Performance at the Florida State University College of Music. His musical abilities extend beyond the piano, as he is also skilled in playing saxophone, clarinet, oboe, and percussion, and has had the privilege of performing alongside various ensembles. During his years in high school, Dylan had the privilege of studying under the esteemed Dr. Yun-Ling Hsu, the President of the World Piano Teacher’s Association, in Orlando, FL. Currently, Dylan is honing his musical talents under the tutelage of Dr. Heidi Louise Williams, the Coordinator of Keyboard Studies at Florida State University. He has performed with many ensembles including the Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra, Space Coast Symphony Orchestra, Space Coast Wind Ensemble, Space Coast Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Cocoa Village Playhouse, and the Melbourne Community Orchestra. Throughout his musical endeavors, Dylan has had the privilege of contributing to numerous world premieres of both solo and orchestral works. Notably, he has also performed as a concerto soloist with esteemed ensembles like the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra (Gershwin Piano Concerto in F) and the Melbourne Community Orchestra (Rhapsody in Blue and Grieg Piano Concerto in A Minor). In recognition of his exceptional talent, Dylan was nominated for the Irene Muir Piano Award for his outstanding performances in the 2022 Federation of Music Clubs Competition. In 2024, Dylan was awarded second prize at FSU’s 14th Annual Competitive Festival.
