Edward Liu

Edward Liu, 15, is a sophomore at The Dalton School in New York City. He studies piano with Ernest Barretta, Juilliard School Pre-College Piano faculty and Marina Obukovsky, Mannes Prep faculty and Head of Piano at The School for Strings. Edward has participated in several masterclasses, including with Steven Spooner, Amy Yang, Jonathan Bass, and Vladimir Valjarević. Edward is a member of the New York Youth Symphony Chamber Music Program.

Edward has performed several times at Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall. He won First Prize at the PianoHouse International Piano Competition 2023. Edward also placed and performed in the Piano Teachers Congress of New York Honors Program for solo piano and chamber music. His other awards include Grand Prix Winner at the Concert Festival International Competition, Honorable Mention in the Associated Music Teachers League New York Young Performers Prize Competition, and First Place Winner of the Rondo Vanguard Competition.

When Edward is not playing piano he enjoys playing tennis, cooking and spending time with his family, friends and threeyear-old maltipoo.
