Edward Yu began learning piano at age six under the guidance of Dr. Wang Zhiyu. As a beginner with perfect pitch, he completed Beyer’s Op. 101 within twelve months. In 2023, he was the winner of Pre-Primary category of the MMTA Piano Contest. Additionally, he was selected to participate in a Master Class led by Leah Claiborne.
