Eleanor Wei

Eleanor Wei, age 12, is a rising 7th grader at Bret Harte Middle School in San Jose, California. She has been studying piano since she was five years old and is currently under the tutelage of Dr. Irina Morgan in San Jose.

Passionate about music, Eleanor is a frequent participant in the student recitals organized by the San Jose International Piano Competition. She received State Honors for three consecutive years at the annual Certificate of Merit (CM) evaluation program sponsored by the California Music Teachers’ Association (MTAC). In July 2023 and June 2024, she was invited to perform live at the annual MTAC State Convention Recitals in Santa Clara and Los Angeles, California. Previously in August 2022, she performed at the Discovery Day of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers, Santa Clara Valley Chapter (CAPMT-SCV).

Eleanor’s other accolades include second and third prize at the US International Open Competition organized by the Bay Area Music Association (BAMA) in Northern California and second prize at the Great Composers Competition, the Art of Piano.

In addition to music, Eleanor enjoys creating art pieces, tackling challenging math problems and writing creatively.
