I started playing the oboe since 6th grade or about 7 years now. I really loved the sound of the oboe because it’s something that’s really unique and beautiful than other instruments. I only had one year experience in playing in an ensemble, I mostly self taught myself after 6th grade because of moving back to the Navajo Reservation. I took a 3 year break and started getting back into playing the oboe last July of 2022. I have an oboe teacher that’s in the New Mexico Philharmonic and am now in a Youth Symphony. I also play the soprano saxophone on the side and I’m just mostly teaching myself on that instrument as well.
