
Ella Kim (piano), 15, is from Herndon, Virginia, and attends Oakton High School. Ella has won numerous awards, including first prize and the Judges Recognition Award at the Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition. More recently, she won third prize at the Richmond Symphony League Concerto Competition and the Lancaster International Piano Competition. In 2019, Ella appeared on NPR’s From the Top Show 373 as part of an eight-hand ensemble and she was invited back to be featured as a soloist in 2020 on Show 384 in Fairfax, Virginia. Ella and her younger sister, Emma-Grace, collaborate regularly as a piano and violin duo. In 2020, they were invited to perform a piano/violin duo on From the Top’s Facebook Live Concert and were invited to do an Instagram Takeover for Washington DC’s WETA Classical, highlighting their lives as young classical musicians. They performed at the House of Sweden for WETA Classical’s Evening of Classical Music Celebrating Young Artists Leadership Circle Event. Ella was featured on NBC4 Washington for her weekly volunteer work offering free piano lessons for children at a Title I school in Fairfax County through the non-profit organization she and her sister founded called ITZArt4you. Ella has performed at the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, the Embassy of Austria, the National Institute of Health, and the US State Department. Outside of music, Ella enjoys traveling, painting and trying new food.
