
Ella Wang, a sophomore vocal music student at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, is a versatile artist living in New York City. Ella began studying classical voice at 14 under Ms. Amy Williams. In addition to her vocal studies, she has hobbies in dance, piano, Chinese harp, and visual arts.
Ella is a member of the GRAMMY Award Winning National Children’s Chorus, where she also serves as a vocal mentor for the middle school division of her chorus. Ella studies at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music in the Pre-College as a Classical Voice (Soprano) major. She studies Music Theory, Ear Training, and Private Voice, and performs in the Musical Theatre Workshop. Her most memorable musical experience was visiting Interlochen Center for the Arts, where she was accepted into the Musical Theatre Program. At Interlochen, Ella studied all aspects of theatre, ranging from Dance to Stage Production. This year, Ella will attend the Tanglewood Young Artist Vocal Program presented by Boston University for six weeks as a classical Soprano. She is also an avid performer, from being on Off-Broadway to performing on well-known stages such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
In school, Ella is a part of the school chorus, National Honor Society, and Events Committee. She is a member of her school’s varsity Fencing Team, where she has been actively participating in team tournaments. Ella is also a Concerts in Motion Youth Performer, a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing the music of children with the elderly. She is also a vocal tutor and Co- Recruitment Director of New York for the Do-Re-Mi Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to making music accessible for children throughout the world. She is also a small business owner on Depop, where she has made up to $2400 every month. In the future, Ella plans to perform in Opera or Musical Theatre.
