
Ellie Millette is a senior in high school and has been studying violin with Lee Taylor since she was six years old. During her freshman year of high school, Ellie participated in the Emory Youth Chamber Program (EYCP) coached by the Vega quartet and has afterwards received private instruction from the first violinist Emily Dagget Smith. In the following summer, Ellie was invited to the opening year of the Ursus String Camp at the University of Tennessee where she took master classes and lessons from Dr. Ching-Yi Lin, Lee Taylor, and Dr. Wesley Baldwin. Here she was invited to perform the third movement of Bruch’s Violin Concerto in an honors recital as well as perform in community outreach ensembles of the Telemann Concerto for Four Violins. The following year, Ellie attended the Summer Strings Program at the Jacob’s School of Music where she studied under faculty including Pasha Sabouri, Mimi Zweig and the Erinys Quartet. During the festival, Ellie performed solo works by Beethoven and chamber works by Haydn. In the past year, Ellie attended the Philadelphia International Music Festival where she took lessons and masterclasses from members of the Philadelphia Orchestra including Kimberly Fisher and Dara Morales, performing both solo recitals as well as quartet. Ellie has been a member of the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra since 2022. Other teachers that Ellie received instruction from are David Cucheron, Jessica Wu, and Mei-chen Liao-Barnes.
