Emily Quintana was born in 2006 in Quito, Ecuador. She started to study the oboe at the age of 7 years old with Fernando Vasco. At the age of 8, she joined the Children and Youth Orchestra (FOSJE) where she started to perform orchestral work. Later, to continue her studies, she entered to the National Music Conservatory of Ecuador. Then she continues her personalized studies with teachers, like Carolina Gallegos, Jorge Layana, Nuery Vivas, Ana Viteri.
She participated in the event of the reception of Pope Francisco in 2015. She has been selected to take part in the years 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 of the Youth Symphony Orchestra “Mitad del Mundo” promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage. Emily took master classes with recognized oboists like Kevin Vigneau, Jorge Pinzón, Alex Klein, Eugene Izotov, and many others.
She has participated as a guest oboist in the “Orquesta Joven Ecuador” conducted by Diego Carneiro, and also in the National Superior Conservatory of Music directed by Luis Alomoto. She continues her studies at the National Conservatory of Music, also is the principal oboist of the Ecuadorian Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Yuri Sovolev.
