Emily Nguyen was born in December, 2007. She began taking piano lessons when she was four years old with Dr. Juliana Yap in Morgantown, West Virginia. Emily competed in the 2021 West Virginia Music Teacher’s Association: Mountain State Competition and placed first. She also competed in the 2021 Bangkok International Performing Arts Piano Competition and achieved silver in two categories. Emily competed in the 4th Vienna International Music Competition in March 2023. She earned 1st prize in Piano Professional Discipline in the 2nd International Piano Competition 2023 for Golden Piano Talents and she earned 2nd prize for the International Music Competition from the Music of America Great Composers Competition.
Emily has been singing in St. Francis de Sales Church’s music ministry since she was eight-years-old. Under the direction of Mrs. Donna Kinsey, Emily auditioned and was accepted into the 2022 American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) All State Honor Choir and the 2022 ACDA Southern Region Advanced Treble Honor Choir. Emily also plays hand bells for St Francis de Sales, and flute and synth for marching band at University High School.
