Having grown up in a musical family, I have always lived, breathed, and loved classical music. I’ve been singing since before I could remember, both at home and in children’s choirs, and began studies on the violin at 8. As a ten-year-old, I would sneak my CD player right up next to my head in bed and listen to operas by Mozart, Verdi, and Wagner. I played the violin and viola in middle school, high school and college, but studied singing all the while. I have always had my mother as a voice teacher, and am continually astounded at the privilege of having an in-house voice teacher of her caliber. I studied with her privately through a college degree that focused on music, literature, and German. I have been privileged to perform as a soloist in Hansel’s Messiah, Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Villa-Lobos’s Bachianas Brazileiras No. 5.
