Emma Jade Ujifusa

Emma Ujifusa is a Los Angeles based soprano. She recently performed the role of Ciesca in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi in Pepperdine University’s February 2019-2020 season. Emma also performed Adele in Die Fledermaus with Pepperdine University in 2019 and will make her professional debut as Pamina in The Magic Flute with The Lyric Opera of Orange County in 2021. In the summer of 2019 Emma performed opera scenes as Susanna from Le Nozze di Figaro in Heidelberg, Germany and Vienna, Austria as a part of Pepperdine University’s Summer Opera program. Emma also participated as an Emerging Artist in OperaWorks (2018), as a Young Artist in the Illinois Bach Academy (2018), and as a Young Artist in CoOperative Summer Intensive at Westminster Choir College (2018). In addition to her operatic work, Emma is passionate about oratorio and Early Music. She has performed solos in works such as Charpentier’s Te Deum (2020), Bach’s St. John Passion (2017), Handel’s Messiah (2016), and Michael Haydn’s Run, Ye Shepherds to the Light (2015). Emma received her Bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University in Music Education and Applied Voice. In addition to singing, Emma has spent time this year learning trumpet, guitar, yoga, and ballet.
