
Emma is currently a Grade 11 student at the University of Toronto Schools. She first started studying in the studio of Joowon Kim, in which she had studied for five years, where she received numerous awards at many local competitions such as the Toronto Kiwanis Festival and North York Music Festival, and received various scholarships, notably, the Percy Hermant Memorial Award and the John and Margaret Withrow Music Scholarship. She has also won first prize in the Level 9 and 10 categories of the Ontario Music Festival provincial competition. In 2022, she went to Québec for the National Finals of the Canadian Music Competition, and won first prize in the 13-year-old strings category, and in 2023, she was a National Finalist in the 14-year-old category. She is currently in her fifth year at the Taylor Academy at the Royal Conservatory of Music in the studio of David Hetherington. She has had experience playing in orchestras, previously with the Mississauga Symphony Youth Orchestra, but more recently, the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, which she has been a part of for two years. When she is not playing music, Emma loves to travel and enjoys learning about different cultures.
