Ethan Hopkins Huang started studying piano at the Johns Hopkins Peabody Preparatory when he was five years old. He has been studying with Ms. Olga Kuperstein since 2018 after relocating with his family to Ellicott City. Ethan earned multiple awards in piano competitions, including first prize at the Maryland State Music Teachers Association Spring Festival from 2021 to 2024, Grand prize at the 2023 BMTG Intercontinental Piano Competition, first prize at the 2022 YMIC International Competition, second prize at the 2022 Carmel Klavier International Competition, first prize at the 2021 Florida Keys International Competition, and the Miriam Shield Gottlieb Memorial Piano competitions from 2020 – 2023. Besides piano, Ethan has been playing Altosaxophone since eight years old and was accepted into the 2023 and 2024 Maryland All State Junior Band.
