
Ethan Joon Byeon was born in Las Vegas. He is a 3rd grader at Linda Givens Elementary School. He has been playing the piano since the age of 6 at Cindy Lee Piano Studio. Joon’s first public performance was at the age of six in the National Federation of Junior Festival in 2022, where he received Superior Honors in the Primary 1 category. Since then, Joon has participated in various competitions, both solo and in piano ensembles. He has won in the Jazz and Ragtime Blue Festival solo and duet categories, the Ensemble Festival 2022, and the Silver State Competition, where he placed second in the duet ensemble category and received honorable mentions in the classical solo and Social classic categories. He also received Superior Honors in the Primary 3 category in the Junior Festival in 2023.
Joon was also invited to play the piano during the intermission of the Nutcracker Ballet.
He also recently won 2nd place in the America Protege International Music Talent Competition 2023. Joon invited to perform at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York in December
He achieved 2nd place in the Roger Bushell Scholarship Competition 2023. Additionally, 2nd place in the 2023 20th Century Music Competition too.
Recently, He won 1st place in the Jazz Competition and was invited to the 2025 New York City Prize Winner Recital. He was also the 1st place winner in the 2024 Charleston International Summer Music Competition. In the 2024 Silver State Classic, he earned 2nd place in the Social category. He was a finalist in the Piano Star International Competition and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in 2025. In the 2025 Junior Festival, he received Superior Honors.
