My name is Ethan Lam and I am a 15-year-old from Great Neck, New York. I have felt a deep connection with music since I was very little. I started my music journey by learning piano at the age of six.
At the age of 8, I started learning violin and soon became the concertmaster for my elementary and middle school orchestra. I was the section leader of the second violins at the All County Festival in 2019 for Division 1 West. From 2019-2021, I was the member of The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York.
Chamber music has been my favorite form of performance. In 2020 and 2023, my quintet ensemble as well as my trio group received the Grand Prize respectively at New York Concert Festival International Competitions and we performed in Carnegie Hall.
In 2024, I was the recipient of Certificate of Recognition at All County Music Festival and Long Island String Festival.
My musical journey has been incredibly rewarding. As a high school rising junior, I look forward to continuing to grow and share my love of music with others.
