Francesca Lily Cho

Francesca Cho is 16 years old, and goes to the Washington International School.

She has been studying music for 10 years: first with Yuliya Basis, then with Marina Kolomiytseva, and now with Anastassia Ivanova, graduates of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music; as she has lived in New York, Paris and Washington DC.

In the 2022-23 season, she has received second place in the senior category at the Washington Music Teachers’ Association Bach Competition, and at the Maryland Spring Piano Solo Festival.

Francesca has also played at Children’s National Hospital in Washington DC, and has participated in fundraising concerts for organizations such as Great and Small (providing equestrian therapy for people with disabilities) and the DC Youth Orchestra.

At her high school, Francesca has been a member of the Symphonic Orchestra and the Jazz Band. She will be taking High Level Music in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.
Francesca has a passion for classical music and hopes to continue her music studies throughout the rest of high school and university, as she plans to enter the field of musicology.

In her spare time, Francesca enjoys reading, learning about arts and history, and dancing ballet.
