
Francis Hong started learning piano at the age of six. He lives in San Jose California, attending Leland high school. He is an Honorable mention winner at the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition and a 3rd place winner at the San Francisco International Innovative competition, both in 2021 with the piece “Liebestraum” by Liszt. In 2022, he became a 2nd place winner in the state of California at the OPUS Music Competition by performing Chopin Ballade No.3. Francis completed the Kukiwon’s 3rd Poom Taekwondo promotion test at the age of 9 and played soccer seriously for more than 3 years. Now he is actively playing tennis in middle school and high school. However, he loves playing piano most because playing piano amazes him with beautiful harmony when he follows the notes of master pieces. He is extending his love of music to different area like playing percussion in middle school and high school band. He is a member of Almaden Youth Musicians (AYM) at San Jose California where he volunteered for performing various music at senior centers and raise funds by doing benefit concerts to donate money to the people in needs.
