Gaia Sbeghen

Gaia Sbeghen, born in September 2001, graduated in Violin in 2019 with full marks and honors at the “”Bruno Maderna”” Conservatory in Cesena, under the guidance of Maestro Daniele Pascoletti and continued her studies with a GPD Master and a PSC diploma at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee in the class of M° Markus Placci beginning September 2021. There, she served as Concertmaster for the Boston Conservatory Symphony Orchestra at Boston’s Symphony Hall, Worcester’s Mechanics Hall and Jordan Hall in Boston. Moreover, she was concertmaster for the Boston Conservatory Orchestra Opera in collaboration with the composer Matthew Peterson for the representation of the opera “Voir Dire”; she was concertmaster for the Boston Conservatory Orchestra in the project “Sinfonietta”, having the honor to collaborate with Lucinda Carver, and served as principal second violin of the Boston Conservatory orchestra in the recording project at the Power Station at BerkleeNYC in collaboration with Berklee College of Music. She attended numerous Masterclasses with internationally renowned Masters including Pavel Vernikov, Svetlana Makarova, Lukas Hagen, Sally O’Reilly, Markus Placci, Daniele Pascoletti, Enzo Porta, Enrico Bronzi. Furthermore, she was the winner of various prizes and scholarships, such as the Rassegna d’Archi di Vittorio Veneto (TV) and “”CEMI – Fiorenza Rosi”” in Bologna, and the second prize at the American Virtuoso International Music Competition Winter Edition 2023 in the category “Solo strings”, which represents her debut at Carnegie Hall, Weill Hall. She has participated in numerous national and international festivals, both as a soloist and in chamber music groups. These include the Magliano Alfieri Classic Festival (Magliano Alfieri, Italy) Sesto Rocchi Festival (San Polo d’Enza, Italy), Vivace Vilnius International Music Festival (Vilnius, Lithuania), the Roxbury Concert Series and the Harvard Chamber Music Festival (Harvard, Massachusetts). With the “Florens Quartet”, she attended the “Scuola di Musica di Fiesole” under the guidance of Antonello Farulli, Luc Marie Aguera, Christophe Giovaninetti and Andrea Nannoni, and she had the pleasure to work with the members of the “Adorno Quartet”. She was semifinalist in the Dallas International Violin Competition 2023, and she played with members of the faculty from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee at the festival Music from Salem 2023, where she had the honor to play on the J. B. Vuillaume violin, from 1867, on loan from estate of Wanda N. Rider. She is the founding member of the chamber duo 2violins_madeinitaly with violinist Celeste Di Meo. They were awarded first prize at the American Virtuoso International Music Competition Winter Edition 2023 in the Chamber Music Category.
