Gengkai Liang

Gengkai Liang first performed his solo repertoire in Guangzhou Xinghai Concert Hall when he was nine. As a soloist and collaborative pianist, Liang performed globally including China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, the United States, and South Africa. Liang participated in many international music festivals: Indiana University Piano Academy 2016 with the highest merit award, where he studied with Emile Naoumoff, Karen Taylor and Joseph Kalichstein, Bowdoin International Music Festival 2017. In 2019, he is the only piano participant accepted by Meadowmount School of Music. He also participated in the Kirishima International Music Festival 2022.

Liang studied with Jianjian Li in The Music School Attached to Xinghai Conservatory of Music. Meanwhile he also studied with Inoyatova Gulchekhra (Russia), who is a professor of South China Normal University. Liang earned his Bachelor degree from San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he studied with the 1997 Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Jon Nakamatsu. He will continue his graduate study at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2023.
