Geonil Seo was born in 1992 in Ulsan, South Korea, and began playing the piano at the age of 17. In 2010, he started his Bachelor of Music studies at Kookmin University under Professor Chul-hee Yoon and graduated in 2014. Subsequently, from 2017 to 2019, he pursued a Master’s degree in Piano Solo under Professor Sontraud Speidel at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe in Germany, graduating in 2019. He then completed the Master Advanced Klavier Solo program at the same institution from 2019 to 2020.
He also participated in masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Reinhard Becker, Tomislav Nedelkovic-Baynov, Jura Margulis, François Thinat, and Hee-sung Joo, further honing his musical skills. In 2014, he won 2nd place at the Shinye Competition. Additionally, he received a diploma at the 3rd International Piano Competition “EUREGIO PIANO AWARD”.
