
Gryson Bae, a 13-year-old Korean American from East Amherst, NY, attends Transit Middle School in the Williamsville School District. He began playing the violin in third grade in 2018, studying with Shieh-Jian Tsai of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. He successfully auditioned for the Erie County Elementary Orchestra in 2021, 2022, and 2023, performing at the All-County Elementary concert at Kleinhans Music Hall. He also auditioned for the NYSSMA Evaluation Festival and played as a 1st violin member at the Zone 1 Junior High School Area All-State Music Festival. He also attended Luzerne Music Center’s Junior Session Music Camp in the summers of 2022 and 2023. In 2022-2023, he was a 1st violin member and a concertmaster of the Great Buffalo Youth String Orchestra. Currently, he is a 2nd violin member of the Great Buffalo Youth Orchestra since September 2023 and serves as the concertmaster at the Transit Middle School Orchestra.
