Helen (Haeyeul) Jeong, age 12, is a seventh grade at Stoller Middle School. She has started playing the violin at the age of eight and has been playing for a bit over four months now. She joined the Overture Orchestra in Metropolitan Youth Symphony (MYS). She was in Interlude Orchestra for 2020-2021 season and Baroque Orchestra for 2021-2022 season. Helen joined the Portland Youth Philharmonic (PYP) at the age of 12 for the 2022-2023 season as the concertmaster of Portland Youth String Ensemble (PYSE) of the year. She was in the quartet for the 2022-2023 season with the other principals and performed several times. She is a skilled pianist that started playing at the age of 10 and is on level 8. She is also a competitive swimmer that is on Tualatin Hills Swim Club.
