Hana is passionate about sharing her love of music. She began piano lessons at age five and began studying violin at age eight. Ever since then, Hana has been a faithful member of the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras (MCYO) at Strathmore. She has grown technically and musically through the various ensembles, often serving in leadership positions such as co-concertmaster, assistant concertmaster, and principal over her eight-year tenure so far.
Additionally, Hana has performed solo works in studio recitals but also as a member of “Serendipity,” a string quartet under the MCYO small ensembles program. Over the years, she has consistently placed in the top three at various competitions such as the Feder Strings Competition, MSMTA, and International Great Composers Competitions. Last year Hana completed the Level 9 ASTACAP Exam with Honors. Most recently, she had the honor of playing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor, 1st mvmt. in a master class with violinist Irina Muresanu.
Hana is currently a junior at Washington Christian Academy (WCA) in Olney, MD. She not only leads the school music ensemble, but she finds great joy as an enthusiastic young teacher to beginner violin students at WCA. Hana is most proud of her young student Grace who did not skip a beat when Covid hit last March as they shifted to virtual lessons during quarantine and have grown together musically and spiritually during the pandemic.
Hana studies violin under the tutelage of Lya Stern.
