Harrison Choi

Harrison Choi is a sophomore in Glen Rock High School in NJ, USA. He started playing the viola in 4th grade and has been attending the Mannes School of Music in NYC since 8th grade (Fall 2021). He is learning from Jinyoung Park Kim, a member of the Mannes faculty.
Harrison has many achievements, both in a solo setting but also in quartets and orchestras. He has won multiple competitions as both a soloist and an Asher Quartet member in the Vivo International, Forte International, New York International, and Golden Classical International competitions. He performed in Klavierhaus and Carnegie Zankel and Carnegie Weill Hall. He also participated in the North Jersey Regional Orchestra in 2022, and 2023, and was the principal violist in 2022. In Mannes, he became a member of the Clara Mannes Scholars Program and the principal violist in the Mannes Symphony Orchestra in Spring 2022, and a member of the Mannes Philharmonic Orchestra since Fall 2022.
Besides viola, Harrison enjoys playing the piano and drums. He is also passionate about volleyball.
