Henry is fourteen years old. He started learning piano when he was six and a half years old at Yamaha, where the teacher there built a very solid foundation for him. In 2019, he continued his piano journey with Dr. Linda Govel. Under Dr. Linda Govel’s guidance, Henry’s exceptional talent and skillful interpretation has been recognized with three Regional Gold medals, and been selected to perform at the Celebration of Excellence recitals at USC for four years running. In 2023, Henry has received the Gold Medal in the French Suite category at the Southern California Junior Bach Festival Complete Works Audition. Henry has performed in masterclasses taught by Olga Kern. He is an active member of Arjun and Friends, which is a community volunteer group of pianists. They often gather together to play at senior homes, retirement centers etc., where they bring music to the elderly. He remember one time when he finished playing, the seniors they were playing for all stood up and applauded for him. Seeing their positive reaction to his music made him want to keep volunteering for events such as this and bring some joy into other people’s lives.
