
Ingrid Updegraff, 12, is a student of Vannia Phillips. She is a Merit Scholarship recipient at the Music Institute of Chicago (MIC), where she began Suzuki violin lessons at age three. Ingrid won first place in the Society of American Musicians Primary Division competition in 2021. She performs often with her dad and her brother including at outreach events such as the Evanston Farmers Market in summer 2021 and the MIC Families in Concert fundraising concert in 2022. She was a soloist at the MIC Gala in 2022. Additionally, she played monthly concerts with her family and friends at Norwood Crossing, a senior living community, from 2017-2020. Beginning in fall 2023 she will play in the Concert Orchestra at Midwest Young Artists Conservatory.
