Irene Kim is a Junior at Thomas S. Wootton High School. She has studied under Dr. JeongEun Park for 8 years. She also played viola and had participated in several musical activities for both instruments, including YMIC Metropolitan Solo & Chamber music Festival, Rockville Competition, Maryland Orchestra Directors Association State Solo & Ensemble Festival, and many others. She was awarded the grand prize at the 2023 AMMA Festival with a trio and 1st place for solo performance. She performed both instruments at the Carnegie Hall as a winner of competitions, including 2023 Concert Artists International Competition, 2023 American Protégé Competition, and 2022 YMIC Global Competition. In summer of 2022, she participated in the Lancaster International Festival. She has served the community by performances at community nursing homes. Outside music, Irene plays for her high school varsity field hockey team.
