Isaias Lopes Ferreira

Violinist and violist, Isaias Ferreira holds a Doctoral Degree from Texas Tech University (2023), an Artist Certificate from Azusa Pacific University (2019), a Master’s Degree in violin performance (2016) from São Paulo State University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music (2009) from Santa Marcelina College in São Paulo, Brazil. Some of his principal teachers include Maria Vischnia (First Prize winner in the Carl Flesch Violin Competition), Nathan Cole (First Associate Concertmaster of the L.A. Phil), John Gilbert (Professor of Violin at Texas Tech University), and Eliane Tokeshi (Professor of Violin at the University of São Paulo). He has also participated in Masterclasses with Boris Belkin, Midori Goto, Charles Castleman, and Paul Coletti, among others.

Isaias Ferreira previously served as concertmaster in the São Jose dos Campos Symphony Orchestra and the São Jose dos Campos Chamber Orchestra in Brazil, as well as a violinist in the São Jose dos Campos String Quartet. Additionally, he was a teaching assistant at Texas Tech University and served as concertmaster in the University Symphony Orchestra. Currently, Isaias Ferreira is a violinist with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, serves as the Director of Orchestras at Midland ISD, and is an active chamber musician and recitalist.
