Jaiden Hsu is a twelve-year-old singer and actor from the Chicago area. She is a long-time student of Barbara Martin at the Music Institute of Chicago and has been an Artists of Tomorrow Merit Scholar and Student Ambassador at the Institute since 2017. Jaiden has sung with the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory’s Voices Rising since 2018. She has been singing in voice competitions for three years and has received three gold medals in competitions hosted by the Chicago chapter of National Association of Teachers of Singing. In 2019, Jaiden made her contemporary musical debut in a Philadelphia concert celebrating Pulitzer Prize- and Grammy Award-winning composer George Crumb’s 90th birthday, where she was a guest vocalist performing in Crumb’s iconic Ancient Voices of Children with the First Editions Chamber Orchestra. Most recently, Jaiden was the voice division winner in the 2019 Walgreens National Concerto Competition, after which she was invited to perform several operatic pieces at Ravinia’s Bennett Gordon Hall.
Jaiden has also performed in several musical theater productions, including Into the Woods (Writers Theater) and Meet Me in St. Louis (Edge of the Wood Theater). In addition, Jaiden is a commercial and film actor and has starred in several films, one of which was a 2019 official selection in the Chinese American Film Festival.
