
James Tsaggaris started piano lessons when he was 5.5 years old. He passed the California Certificate of Merit advanced level exam at 14 years of age. He has won 21 awards in various piano competitions in the past 4 years. He is a First Place winner of the American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music in 2023, 2022, 2021, and 2020 (with the Judges’ Distinction Award in 2021). Besides music, James also loves inventing things. His design of a mechanism to automatically flip music sheets won First Prize at the 2020 Synopsis Science Fair. In 2022, James developed a web application called Smart Calendar (https://smartcalendar.us/) to help busy people improve time management and productivity with AI-powered virtual assistant. In November 2023, James fund raised $2,726 through his solo piano recital for Mental Health America with the theme “Music for a Healthy Mind.” (https://www.classy.org/fundraiser/5037107)
