James Yi

James Yi

James Yi started his first piano lessons at the age of 5 with the International School of Music in Bethesda, MD. Aided by his years of training, he has demonstrated his gift in music: absolute musical hearing, deep musicality and excellent technical skills.

Thanks to his rapid progress in piano playing, James performed very successfully the first time at the Carnegie Hall in New York in 2017 (with the works of R. Schumann and P.I. Tchaikovsky). James has continued to take piano lessons for 8 years until today. He has performed in such prestigious venues
as the Weill Hall at the Carnegie Hall (2018, 2022) and the Terrace Theatre in Kennedy Center, Washington, DC (2019), and the Mansion at Strathmore, MD and has taken part in many competitions in MD, DC and VA, receiving a number of awards and prizes.

Among others, James won the Second Prize in International Competition Stay in Home by American Fine Arts Festival in New York in 2021 and received the award for Theory Testing of MSMTA in MD.

James enjoys music and piano practice very much and, at the same time, he loves swimming, mathematics and robotics.
