Jasmine H. Li, 15 years old. She has been playing violin for 6 years and piano for 9 years. She is currently studying violin with Margaret Lysy and piano with Carmina Glicklich. Her previous teachers include Marina Kalantarova for piano, Lucy Lu, and Dr. Alexander Kalman for violin.
Jasmine started violin in 4th grade in her elementary school’s after school program. After 8 months of playing violin, she was invited to play for the All-School orchestra.
Her violin accomplishments consist of winning 1st place in the California Professional Music Teachers Assocation Concerto Competition Regional, and 2nd place in the CAPMT 2022 State Finals.
The 2nd place winner in the 2022 MAP-IMC international music competition. She’s been a part of the Colburn Ed and Mari Edelman Chamber Music Institute for two years. She was also featured as a guest on the violinist.com show Gilharmonic with Kelly Hall-Tompkins and violinist Gil Shaham.
Her piano accomplishments include winning the Bach piano competition of WLA every year from 2015 to 2020, 1st place in the Alice Frazier Kitchen Memorial Scholarship Competition, 2nd place in the 2020 Southern California CAPMT Concerto competition, and 2nd place in the 2022 MTNA CAPMT Contemporary Competition Regional South. She was a bronze medalist in the Junior Bach Festival: Complete Works.
In her free time, Jasmine enjoys coding, drawing digital art, reading and swimming.
