Jatin Himatsinghani, a Sindhi trumpeter based in Dallas and New York, embarked on his musical journey at the age of eight, starting with the guitar and later transitioning to the trumpet at age 11. During his school years, Jatin’s passion for music emerged after finding a love for jazz, as well as classical music later on. In his time in highschool, Jatin had gone on to win multiple Downbeat awards with his jazz combo and virtual big band, enter the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra under the direction of Richard Giangiulio, receive a seat in the Jazz Band of America, as well as becoming a finalist for the Essentially Ellington Jazz Competition at Lincoln Center. At the age of 18, he was accepted into The Juilliard School, where he continues to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in trumpet performance under the guidance of Christopher Martin, the Principal Trumpet of the New York Philharmonic. Notable performances of his would be performing with members of the New York Philharmonic at David Geffen Hall, performing second trumpet in the Juilliard Orchestra in Carnegie Hall, and performing principal trumpet in the Juilliard Chamber Orchestra as well as the symphony orchestra at Alice Tully Hall. While at Juilliard, Jatin also explores different paths of music such as jazz, Hindustani classical music, and composition.
