Born in Ibagué (Colombia), studied at Conservatorio del Tolima with Professor Carlos Fernández. She graduated a bachelor’s degree in music with an emphasis in Music Education at Universidad Pedagógica Nacional and a master’s degree in music with an emphasis on clarinet performance of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. In 2004, she won the award for “Best Instrumentalist” in the youth category of the National Musical Bands Competition in Paipa, Boyacá (Colombia). She also studied clarinet with José Gómez, Guillermo Marín and Mark Friedman. As a member of chamber groups, she has been awarded important distinctions such as the International Circulation Scholarship for the District Stimulus Program of the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra (2018), winner of Chamber Group Circulation Award for the District Stimulus Program of the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra as well. Currently, she is pursuing an Artist Diploma at Columbus State University with Dr. Lisa Oberlander.
