Jessica Bass is a Miami native. She made her collegiate opera debut as Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel in FSU’s Opera Outreach production in 2017. In 2019 with the University of Miami’s Frost Opera Theater she covered the title roles in both Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice and in L’enfant et les sortilèges, where she performed the role of La Chatte Blanc. In 2020 Jessica was to perform the role of the gypsy Beppe in L’Amico Fritz with Frost Opera Theater and the role of Nicklausse in the Utah Vocal Arts Academy’s summer production of Les Contes D’Hoffmann, but these productions were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jessica will return to the stage with Frost Opera Theater’s spring production of Opera 101, a comedic one act opera by Dennis Kam, in the role of Questa. She will also perform the role of the Dove in Peter Winkler’s Fox Fables. She has performed with the Frost School of Music’s Women’s Chorale, Florida State University’s Chamber Choir, University Singers, Women’s Glee, and Opera Chorus, including La Traviata in 2016 and the collegiate premiere of Carlisle Floyd’s Prince of Players in 2017.
