
Ji-yeon Shin is a 13-year-old violinist from New York, currently studying at the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division. She attends Horace Mann School, and she is a member of school orchestra. Ji-yeon has been playing the violin and piano since the age of four and continues studying under Professor Adrienne Kim (piano) and Professor Jungwon Yoon (violin) at Manhattan School of Music. She has won numerous top awards for performance in both instruments including the American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music, New York Young Musician Competition, Vivo International Music competition, American Protégé International Music Talent Competition, American Virtuoso International Music Competition, Annual Competition of Music International Grand Prix Goldenkey Festival, Camerata Artists International Competition, Little Mozarts International Competition, Prima Volta Music Competition, Prodigy International Music Competition and Crescendo International Competition. Ji-yeon has played in numerous venues including Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, Zenkel Hall and Weill Hall. At the age of 10, she made her orchestral debut with the Symphony of Westchester, and she played the first movement of W.A. Mozart’s Violin Concerto in G Major K. 216.
