Jing Yi Wong

Jayne Wong, cellist from Hong Kong, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music (Honors) from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, under the tutelage of Dr. Letty Poon. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Boston Conservatory at Berklee studying under Prof. Rhonda Rider.
As an active soloist and chamber musician, Jayne took part in Hong Kong Bauhinia Cup String Competition and Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. She has also played in numerous masterclasses by Lynn Harrell, Richard Bamping, Misha Quint, and Eugene Osadchy.
In recent years, she performs in numerous orchestras, including he Symphony Orchestra at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, the Academy Symphony Orchestra at HKAPA, Hong Kong Baptist University Symphony Orchestra and Gustav Mahler Orchestra. She has also performed with renowned soloists including Anne Akiko Meyers, Misha Quint, Chu Yi Bing, and Yuki Ip.
Jayne is also keen to perform new music. She has premiered works by Mischa Salkind-Pearl, Cori Heurich, Trey Anthony Flores and Mrityunjay Sathyanarayanan.
Jayne started her cello training with Mr. Ngai Man Keung at the age of 6 and received the Licentiate of Trinity College London at an early age. She is the Instrumental Music Programme Scholarship recipient at Good Hope School, as well as a Merit Scholarship recipient at Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
