Born in Tokyo, Japan, Joji began his piano studies with his pianist mother when he was 3 years old. He currently studies with Dr. Axel Schmitt at the Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View, California.
Joji has been awarded numerous prizes including California State Award from the Royal Conservatory of Music and 1st Place in the US International Open Music Competition, Young Prodigy Category.
Besides music, Joji is involved in the Student Council and currently serves as Vice President at Bullis Charter Elementary School. He also loves sports, especially baseball, basketball, soccer, and tennis.
