
Joseph, 16 years old, has been playing cello since the age of 12. Joseph’s musical accomplishments include First Place in the American Protégé International Talent Competition 2024, Blue Ribbon in the Michigan State Solo and Ensemble Festival (for both solo and duet), Principal of the Symphony Orchestra at Forest Hills Central HS, Orchestra Freshman Award, and solo performances at Calvin College and Wealthy Theatre in Grand Rapids. He performed in the Grand Valley State University Cello Choir and masterclasses at GVSU Cello Fest 2023-4. He looks forward to participating in the Stulberg International Competition masterclass next month. He performs regularly for local retirement communities and plays cello, drums and piano for his church ensemble.
Joseph’s academic accomplishments include acceptance into the highly selective Harvard Pre-College Summer School and University of Chicago Summer School for HS Students. He is a member of the miRcore Computational Biology Research Organization.
At school, Joseph has been a member of the Varsity Tennis and Basketball teams, takes all AP classes, and is Student Council Treasurer.
