Joyce Xie, a seventh grader from San Jose, California, has been playing the violin since age 5. Joyce is an active performer of solo, chamber music and orchestra, both in her school and local youth orchestras, as well as California CASMEC All-State Junior High Orchestra. She had won top prizes in American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music and US International Open Music Competitions.
