Juan Luis, percussionist of the Barquisimeto nucleus belonging to the National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela, was born in Barquisimeto on August 26, 2014. At the age of one, he began his orchestral training in the “Compota” Initiation Program under the general direction of Prof. Yajaira Echeverría and the direction of Prof. Arturo Riera in the percussion row. He was part of the Little Shuman orchestra and is currently part of the percussion line of the Barquisimeto Nucleus Pre-infant, Children and Youth Orchestra. He has been part of the percussion row as a guest of the Yaracuy Philharmonic and in March 2022 he was invited to play as a soloist with the Core Orchestra of Cabudare and Santa Rosa interpreting the A Minor of Vivaldi I Movement.
In 2019 he participated in the XI Venezuela International Percussion Festival, playing as a soloist in the closing concert with the piece “Quinta Anauco” by Maestro Aldemaro Romero on xylophone and in 2022 he participated in the XII International Percussion Festival in the city of Caracas presenting the A Minor of Vivaldi I and III Movement in the Sala Fedora Alemán of the Center for Social Action for Music. He also had assistance and participation in the I Yaracuy Percussion Festival 2021 and I Mérida Percussion Festival 2022.
He belongs to the El Sistema Percussion School, the El Sistema Pre-Infant Choir, the Vicente Emilio Sojo Conservatory of Music and the Blanca Estrella Choir of the same institution.
His current professors are Arturo Riera and Andrés Eloy Gómez; He has received master classes with professors Juan Aguilar, Masters Acuarius Zambrano, Roger Carlsson, Juan Silva, Simón González, Alfredo Naranjo, Manuel Rangel, Vladimir Quintero, Félix Mendoza and Huascar Barradas.
