Kaitlyn Burns is a current undergraduate student completing her degree in music education at George Mason University. In addition to her involvement in both large and small ensembles at Mason, Kaitlyn is the vice-president of the GMU Chapter of the National Association for Music Education and serves as the intern for Friends of Music at Mason. Kaitlyn has performed flute repertoire in numerous masterclasses for music scholars such as Christina Jennings, Christopher Chaffee, Jennifer Grim, Tadeu Coelho, Alberto Almarza, and Leah Arsenault Barrick. She has also had featured performances in the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention, School of Music Convocation, and was a finalist in the George Mason Concerto Competition. In addition to her love for flute, Kaitlyn has a passion for conducting and plans to continue her graduate studies in instrumental conducting with a wind band emphasis.
