Kashvi Kumar, a rising 9th grader, has been playing cello for over 5 years now. She started piano in 3rd grade and then picked up cello with Joy Bedillion a year later. She is currently a student of Bonnie Thron, principal cellist of the North Carolina Symphony. Kashvi is a member of Triangle Youth Philharmonic that performs professional-level orchestral works. She is also a member of North Carolina Chamber Music Institute.
Kashvi has been the Louisiana State winner and Alternate winner in the South Central MTNA Junior String Competition. She has also received Leadership Award recently through North Carolina Chamber Music Institute.
