Kate Aya Sato

I started playing violin when I was 4 years old in Tokyo, Japan. I have been taking private lessons since and have been taking lessons under two teachers in the US. I have been part of the Peninsula Youth Orchestra organization since second grade and have played every single level orchestra in the organization, and have been assistant concert master and principal chair. This year I was accepted into the top level orchestra PYO as a first violinist. I was also accepted into the 2022 California All-State Junior High String Orchestra. That led me to audition for the CA High School All-State Honors Orchestra and I was accepted as a first violinist and performed in San Diego in December of 2022. This year I was accepted to Montecito Music Festival, won 2nd place at the NCYT competition for the early advanced category, and won 3rd place at the NYIMC and was invited to play at Carnegie Hall.
