Violinist Kate Tang is a 16-year-old junior at William Mason High School in Ohio. She has been playing violin for 6 years under her teacher, Dr. Lu Li. Kate has competed and won a number one ranking for a solo at the Ohio Music Education Association(OMEA) Solo & Ensemble this year. In addition, Kate’s Honors Symphony Orchestra competed at the OMEA State Contest and won a number one ranking. Recently, her orchestra played at the Chicago Symphony Center. Last spring, Kate was the second place winner and won an audience award at the Royal Sound International Music Competition in Canada.
