
Kate is a 14-year-old musician who has been passionate about music from a young age. She began playing the violin at age 4 and the piano at age 6. Currently, she is a violin major student at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music pre-college, studying with Chen Zhao and Boxianzi Vivan Ling for violin and with Erna Gulabyan for piano.
Kate has won numerous awards in both violin and piano competitions and has performed in prestigious venues such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center, and Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Music Center in NYC. She has previously won 1st prize for the East Coast International Music Competition, VIVO International Music Competition, Elite International Music Competition, Prima Volta Music Competition, New York Artists International Music Competition, and the US International Open Music Competition for violin, as well as awards from competitions of the Piano Teachers Society of America and Glory International Music Competition for piano. She has also been awarded in multiple competitions for both instruments from the Great Composers Competition Series.
Kate has performed as the concertmaster of the CMEA Bay Section Winter Conference Honors Orchestra and as a first violinist in the CASMEC All-State String Orchestra in CA.
