Katelyn Wai Yan Du

My mother believes music is magic, and the best companion. It can be your friend for life. She started me with my first piano lesson when I was 6-1/2 years old. I understand why my mother has such beliefs in music. Music is powerful, it comforts me in many ways. It adds to my happiness when I am happy, and it reduces my sadness when I am sad.
Besides working on classical pieces and repertoire, I also love to play Japanese anime pieces such as One Summer Day, and Howl’s Moving Castle. They are relaxing, peaceful, and I enjoy the fact that I can expand my imagination while playing them.
Viola is the second instrument I play. I had passed the audition for the TEMA Region 25 Orchestra this year, it was a wonderful and valuable experience for me to be able to work and perform with other young musicians. I hope to be able to continue my journey to explore the endless possibilities I may achieve through music.
